Just write it
I promised a review of Bethany Pierce’s new book, Amy Inspired, and you shall have it. But not today. I decided to email her and ask her a few insightful questions so that we could peek inside her clever mind. When she sends back her answers, up it will go.
Today, though, I am unofficially jumping on the NaNoWriMo wagon. That’s Orkan (shout out to all Mork and Mindy fans) for National Novel Writing Month. All across our fair planet, brave writers are embarking on a quest to write a rough draft in the 30 days allotted to us in November. They are registering here and recording their word count per day. I am taking the unofficial route and registering here on the Edge with just you fine people. The encouraging emails from the mother ship, which I hear you get when you are official, are not for me. And hey, if I totally fail, it won’t be official.
Plus, I will be writing something that I haven’t even plotted. I don’t have a deadline at the moment, so I am not in write mode, and I don’t have any story maps done for anything. Which means this outliner will be nanowrimoing by the seat of her pants. That thought alone is you-must-be-this-tall-to-ride-the-ride thrilling. Not official, but definitely thrilling.
So off I go. Wish me luck.
Nanoo Nanoo,
Sooz
p.s. Most of my novels are in the 90k range and the NaNo rules state I only have to come up with 50,000. That makes me feel like I am already 40,000 unoutlined words into the thang!
